Description:

Map Events Tool is a web-based collaborative GIS application for teaching and training that can be used also by researchers in the field. The teaching tool uses an Internet system web infrastructure for GIS collaborative learning. The goal of incorporating the tool into the class curriculum is to teach students with no knowledge of geographic information technology to interact with data through different sources in order to discover the power of spatial-temporal analysis and decision systems. Students learn to integrate data, analyze it, acquire their own datasets in the field, and defend their results online. We look for collaborations and funding to further test and optimize the application.
